On March 15th 2020, the day of pandemic lock down, we opened a brick and mortar called Earth Commons! You can find all of Ritual Union things there as well as a plethora of local community offerings and other high quality offerings from extended community and highly skilled herbalists! Earth Commons houses many body workers and people offering services as well! It truly aims to be holistic and representative of a dynamic community at large on this earth. Community is where the heart is and we are continually evolving!

Ritual Union began in 2013. It is a female owned small business located Austin, TX ~ created and operated by Brandi Jo Perkins, a clinical herbalist and long time yoga practitioner. There is usually one other person most of the time as well! It's been a low growing, nourishing path, and it's like a coven!
Ritual Union was born of a desire to consciously explore the green path: reconnect with the expansive natural world + vitality enhancing practices that elevate the soul. The vessel of Herbalism pertains to the ritual connection with plants that can offer a balancing dance between mind-body-spirit.

We offer Plant Alchemy & Body Care: toxin-free + organic plant based skin care, teas, herbal formulas, lifestyle enhancement practices, holistic consultation + education. Ritual Union products are created from sustainable sources and we pay living wages. We focus on using minimal packaging to keep costs lower and we produce in small batches to insure quality + freshness. Most products on the market have been sitting on shelves a lonnng time! The products you see in big stores especially, have been sitting there for who knows how long, and maybe even longer in the warehouses. While big name brands seem fancy, and expensive, a lot of what you are buying is marketing hype. You are paying high prices for packaging and marketing costs and often times these products are not originating from anyone who knows much about creating their own products. It is quite easy to lift someone else's idea and present it as your own having had the marketing expertise or privileged assistance of designers and money to back it. Ritual Union not only devotes time and energy into personal ingenuity in what transpires but also believes in giving recognition to those who have helped along the way. These offerings are created from time, research and experience, by a clinical herbalist and life long student, and they continue to develop and improve all the time. Ritual Union also desires to offer education to those who wish to empower themselves with their own fresh products at home.
Skin care and health care practices don't have to be be out of reach to the general public. We believe in offering high quality fresh-as-can-be holistic beauty support at a reasonable price.
Ritual Union has a few core year round products - see the Rose + Gold Line. We also offer a coming-and-going of limited edition seasonal offerings. Our process involves, research, enrolling in training, and being intentional & present. Brandi was trained to always be present of energy in work. The process transpires with devotion through our hands as touch transcends on~wards and out to you, this is alchemy. She has had literal dreams of making love with her hands in this work. Each batch will be a tiny bit different because ingredients are organic and sourced from what we grow or what we can get from other small farmers. Each plant plant has a different pysiochemical blueprint. As no person is the same, no plant is the same, no moment is the same, physiological chemistry changes constantly. Though wild~crafting is trending, because of its increased popularity, we tend to shy away from wild~crafted anything to preserve our wild and only work with the land & people we know.
Nothing is chemical free and we honor that. Even the air you breathe holds chemicals, biochemistry is alive and chemistry is an interaction. What we are aiming for is an authentic offering, transparency, and empowerment through what you consume and how you effect the planet.

Brandi has been practicing herbalism for almost ten years now. Brandi Jo Perkins is the creator behind Ritual Union, an herbal skin care business, and co-owner of EARTH COMMONS, Apothecary & Wellness Center with Caroline Caswell. She is also a practicing clinical herbalist & yoga teacher.
She was born and raised in heart of Texas, the Austin Area. She is a Certified Energetic Clinical Herbalist in the Energetic and Western-Folk Herbal Medicine Traditions. She completed the clinical program with Karyn Sanders and Sarah Holmes at the Blue Otter School of Herbal Medicine and the Clinical program with Nicole Telkes at the Wildflower School of Botanical Medicine. She continued herbal stewardship with many other teachers. Brandi spent many close years studying with one of her teachers & mentors, alchemist & skin care wizard, Esther Schroeder. The alchemy of psychology was encouraged along with the science & chemistry of making products. This all continues to make an important impact on what Ritual Union has to offer. The continued devotion to self-study and growth is hand in hand infused into holding the ear to the ground to be in service to the greater good. Studying with her other teachers has brought to life other important elements like protection of the wild, stewarding the land, being in community, social activism, somatic healing, and energetic herbalism. Her philosophy centers from not what the world can do for her, but what she can do for community, green, humans, and all as a healing rewiring, undoing of capitalism, and collective change. Her practices fuel the green beauty movement, inspire from harm reduction, and encouraging sustainability & care taking of our fragile ecosystem. Her other teachers include Maria Elena Martinez, Ginger Webb, Will Morris, Margi Flint, Thomas Easely and more. She is also a 500 hour certified Yoga Teacher, has been teaching for 9+ years, and practicing for 19 + years. She currently studies Yoga Therapy at Practice Yoga Austin, and studies very closely with her teacher Shanti Kelly. Brandi offers yoga and herb classes on a consistent basis + private herbal consultations. Brandi values working in depth at a personal level and is always continuing her education. Her work centralizes on living harmoniously with the seasons + cycles of life, with practices that build resilience, optimum health, and balance. She enjoys the medicine of place, local plant allies, seasonal food, somatic healing, yoga, movement, and meditation practices. She believes in the cultivation of listening as a skill which directly interacts with the health and happiness in our relationships. |

As Foundress of the Institute of Africana Cosmology, she shares the significant cultural and spiritual importance of plants in African traditional and diasporic religions, and their kinship to Native American ethnobotany. She teaches about the healing wisdom of Africana people worldwide in workshops, lectures, and apprenticeships. She is doing inspiring work in the community and has often helped people without asking for compensation and trusted in God.
